10 tips to creating effective LinkedIn Ad's and Campaigns

LinkedIn advertising is in demand, on the rise and I'm here to tell you why. If you're reading this post you probably know by now that LinkedIn is essentially a Facebook for business professionals to network and promote activities related to their businesses. LinkedIn gives you; access to millions of industry professionals, the ability to create a variety of (Ad's (video, text, display), support your marketing campaigns, customize your budget and connect with your target audience in a more personal format. LinkedIn Ads campaigns can also be used for job recruitment ads, promoting content, increasing visibility, service and product sales, and lead generation. Below is a video and summary of the main points along with some branch off course guides for SEO with LinkedIn. I also suggest you take a look at Hubspot's guide to LinkedIn Ad's (see below). LinkedIn Ad's won't be applicable or even the best fit for your businesses social media objectives but It is a growing platform with a multitude of uses. Consumers use LinkedIn daily to; search for jobs, take new courses, connect with Industry leaders, attend webinars/sessions, but the opportunities never end. Every business wanting an online presence can benefit from LinkedIn advertising and due to Covid-19 that's almost every business even groceries are available for order online like Walmart/Amazon.


  1. Create a LinkedIn account (small/medium/large business, showcase, or Education page).

  2. Link you're page to account so all campaigns are managed under this account.

  3. When crafting campaigns (awareness, consideration, conversion objectives) tailor to targeting objectives that appear based on the SEO information taken from your page.

  4. Be very specific (growth rates, demographics, age, experience) when targeting to make most of your advertising budget. *You just can't discriminate if you're posting jobs.

  5. Build your audience by traits (job performance (references), interesting in a certain field, bachelor's degree, per country, certification's, remarketing lists-who've purchased your products previously or signed up.

  6. Audience expansion- Message/ Conversation Ad's in Inbox utilize call to action button.

  7. Set up conversion tracking and bidding for Ad space (content needs relevant image1200x628 pixels are Ideal (also for Facebook/text).

  8. Utilize tracking tools i.e. clickmagic.

  9. Edit from the LinkedIn campaign manager (promote, CTA, edit image/text).

  10. Optimize you're campaigns as needed depending on how they perform (similar to Facebook or Instagram, campaigns with a lot of organic traffic are good options to promote.
